Our History

Our History

Following vast entrepreneurial and business start-up experience, Tom Mackenzie has been able to combine his passions for engineering and football, in order to create value and new opportunities for footballing families.

Having lived and experienced football in the UK, Tom noticed how difficult it was to find long lasting, easy to assemble goals, it became expensive needing to purchase different sized goals.

Thinking as both a player, and coach, Tom founded Telescopicgoal in order to create a product capable of ensuring not only high quality long-term use, but an adaptability designed to make football accessible and effective for everyone - no matter their age, ability, or backyard space.

After 4 years of researching, design, development, testing and manufacturing, Tom is pleased to finally offer the ground breaking customisable Telescopicgoal.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Telescopicgoal has been designed by footballing families, for footballing families. We believe our products prioritise the elements deemed essential by footballers and families alike in order to make football effective and accessible for everyone.

Telescopicgoal's adaptable durability can therefore revolutionise the football goal market and reshape consumer perception away from expensive, one-size, heavy, space-taking products; toward a cost effective, multi-sized, portable, space utilising single product.

Global Sizing

Global Sizing

Appropriate goal sizing based on age is a highly debated topic in youth football across the World. A simple look at this table displaying recommended goal sizes per age shows the clear disparity in opinion across different international football associations. While NZ recommends 4m x 2m for children under 10, Australia and the UK suggest 3.7m x 1.8m, the EU promotes 3m x 1.55m, and Portugal and Spain encourage 1.8m x 1.2m. Not only can this cause confusion but also limits the lifespan and usefulness of smaller goals as your child grows. With the versatile T models, you can choose the most effective goal size based on age and ability while simultaneously not having to worry your child will outgrow their goal.

Environmental

Environmental

Because Telescopicgoals are made from aluminium it makes less impact on the environment. A life cycle analysis (LCA) calculated a T3 Telescopicgoal uses 8% of the CO2 emissions when compared with a 5mx2m PVC football goal and 4% for a 5mx2m steel goal.
